I'm Going Down To the River

Well, it wasn't actually a river, but today I got to experience a mother's greatest joy. My daughter, beautiful D, was baptized along with her sweet hubby, N! The angels are rejoicing along with us! What can I say - my heart overflows with happiness that my children are seeking God and wanting to follow in His will. And now D and N's baby girls will have that same wonderful relationship with God to anticipate. Speaking of which, one of their pixies, Ansley (age 3) says that "mommy and daddy got advertised" today! And you know what - it is sort of an advertisement when you think about it...getting baptized means showing the world who you are and what you're about. An advertisement does the same thing. So maybe from now on we all should think of "baptising" as "advertising" for God!

On to Mimi business...tonight begins our coed bowling league for a new season. My better half always grumbles and groans about being out on a Sunday night (how many of you out there have this same man for a husband?) but yet we always have fun. Our team is the Bowlweisers and last season we came in second place. I highly recommend getting involved in these types of activities because it keeps you young, it's fun, and we meet so many other new folks. Plus, it really brings out the ol' competitive nature when you are bowling against other teams!

What a memorable day...one that I will cherish always. Baptisms and bowling - who would have thought?? =)

Mimi
