How do 2 weeks slip by so quickly? I really have such great intentions of keeping this blog up to date, but then before I can say Jiminy Cricket days have zoomed by and no bloggin' has been done! If there are any readers out there in the blogosphere, welcome back and I will again try to get back on track with my mental meanderings.
The past week was a weird one. You know how you just are cruising along on life's highway, thinking that things are going well, when all of a sudden it seems as though you blew a tire, threw a rod, hit a deer and jumped a ravine all at once? Well, that was last week. It started out well enough, with bible study with my posse. The lesson seemed to go well, but then things got off track and by the time I left I literally felt battered and bruised. No, they didn't hit me - it just felt as if my spirit had been punched and pommeled until I literally had thoughts of ending the bible study then and there. Fortunately, though, God in His sovereign wisdom ALWAYS sends me just the right message to pick me up, dust me off, and put me right back on the road of life again. He is so faithful and I am going to keep plugging along doing what I believe He has assigned to me. If God chooses us for a mission, we would do well to obey and do it to the best of our abilities.
Friday night was another playoff game for the Bruins, and fortunately the outcome was a VICTORY!! Cameron had another good game, with a forced fumble, a touchdown catch, and a bunch of good blocking on the offensive side of the ball. He continues on the recruiting trail, and so far still has no decision made about his future. Time will tell, and so this become an exercise in patience. A virtue that I have never possessed but one that God seems to want me to have, so He keeps giving me lots of situations in which to practice the elusive patience! This week's rematch against Franklin will be a game for the ages so I just hope that I can stay calm and supportive this week for Cam.
The whole family was over tonight for dinner, which is a hoot. The pixies ran and ran and ate chocolate cake and screamed and had their normal good time. The bigguns played cards and laughed and just enjoyed being together - what a blessing it is each time we all gather together. Which is why I am looking forward to Thanksgiving with great anticipation...a day of feasting and hanging out together, having fun without all of the stress of the gift-giving that accompanies Christmas.
May you all enjoy the fall, enjoy your families, and most of all bask in the glory of salvation!!
Hugs from Mimi
