Esther by the Bethster

Our Wednesday night ladies bible study group is about halfway through the newest Beth Moore study - Esther: It's Tough Being a Woman. And let me just testify right here and now that it is a GREAT study. If you are looking for some great material that applies to your everyday, estrogen-driven life full of ups and downs then I urge you to scurry on over to Lifeway and pick up this study! One little snippet from the study that I found really convicting is about fear. Have you ever considered that an acronym for I Fear is the word "if"? How many times a day do you say the word if? If we get a tax refund. If such-and-such doesn't happen. If I don't lose my job. If my kids stay out of trouble. If my husband loves me. If, if, if!! And now with the understanding that with this tiny word I am setting myself up for fear and uncertainty why on earth would I continue to use it? From now on, I am going to try very hard to be a "when" girl instead of an "if" chick. Claiming the promises that God has for me, not wondering whether something may or may not happen - I'm hangin' on to the one true thing in this life and that is His love for me and His plans for my benefit. After all, he said it right there in Jeremiah 29:11 and that's enough for me!!

May all your days be When-days,

Lana
