Friends, Fellowship and Fondue!

Tonight was bible study night with my gal pals. Hosted at my house, and I am always glad to get to cook fun things for my friends that my menfolk won't eat. We had a yummy Southwest Chicken quiche from the always-fabulous Puffy Muffin restaurant, and I threw together a good salad and steamed broccoli and rolls. But the piece d'resistance was the chocolate fondue for dessert! There is just something so decadent and wonderful about a big pot of chocolate (enhanced with Kahlua and Grand Marnier, of course!) that you dip into with a group of friends. It is like everyone is experiencing the exact same bliss at the very same moment, and it is actually such a simple thing to do. Buy some fruit, some pound cake and have yourself a big ol' party!! The bible study that we just finished is Cultivating Contentment, and I actually think that it has helped me achieve a tad more peace in my life. Even in today's turbulent economic times, with the news getting worse and worse, there is a piece of good news that will never change - Jesus loves me, warts and all, and will never quit! Hallelujah and pass the fondue!!

Tomorrow is a big day for the Mason clan...Cameron will be signing his letter of intent to attend the Naval Academy this fall. February 4th is National Letter of Intent day for all high school football players who are fortunate enough to have been offered a college scholarship. So we will head to his high school tomorrow at lunch for the signing ceremony - what a proud moment for all of us who love him and have watched him grow into his talent over the past 13 years. My prayer for Cameron is that he will be able to excel not only on the football field, but in every endeavor he undertakes in his future. I know that he will do wonderful things, and I know this because he prays and seeks God's direction in his life. Anchors aweigh, buddy!!

Time for beauty rest...tomorrow is another gift to unwrap and see what God has in store for me!
