Celebrating Mom

This post is a shout-out to my wonderful mother, Barbara. Around these parts, she is affectionately known as "Bop" - long story short, we tried to get Dana to call her Barbs when she first learned to talk, but it came out Bop and so it has remained! Even the men in her office call her Bop, which I just find so funny. My mom did not have a great childhood - she had an alcoholic father who was not very nice to her, her sisters, or my grandmother. They didn't have alot of money, and she did without alot of things. But somewhere in all that madness she became the person she is today - a woman with a heart the size of Texas who loves her family dearly. She is practical and down to earth. She goes daily to the nursing home to make sure that her mother is fed and cared for, because she knows that the nurses there don't always have enough time to give the care that is needed. She is an encourager and would help anyone who needed it. Because of her upbringing, my mom has never had a lot of self-confidence, but she always taught me and my sister that we can do anything. And whenever one of us has succeeded at something, my mother is the biggest cheerleader around! The world would be a lonely place if Bop wasn't around, and I know that I don't tell her enough but I love her more than words can express and am so proud of the wonderful woman that she is.

Hugs and kisses, Bopper!

Lana

It's true! Bop is pretty amazing. I don't think I have ever seen her without a smile on her face, and she gives great hugs too.Which explains why you are so awesome. I guess the fruit really doesn't fall far from the tree. You are both just spectacular. I hope you have a great week!
